The Administrative Internship is 12-week paid program that provides practical work experiences to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing an accredited Healthcare Administration degree and/or MBA. The intern may be assigned to various site locations within Community Health Systems, Inc. Current locations are in Tucson, Arizona; Bentonville, El Dorado and Poplar Bluff, Arkansas; Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Corsicana and Laredo, Texas; and Durant, Oklahoma. The list of locations may change.
The intern will have access to a wide variety of department areas to obtain first-hand knowledge, operational, and strategy experience. The intern is responsible for seeking out specific and substantial studies and projects. The facility to which assigned will further develop specific job standards and guidelines for the internship role.
Administrative Intern will help manage diverse portfolio of healthcare projects and is expected to make meaningful contributions to the progress and work product of these initiatives and meet project needs. Becomes part of administrative team to carry out assigned work. Identifies and uses internal and external support resources to accomplish work goals. Offers information and perspectives regarding current trends and issues to stimulate new ideas and thinking.
Administrative intern will help build a broad range of healthcare management skills. Works effectively with physicians, administrative colleagues and allied health staff to promote the team concept. May direct or lead the work of others in a work group or task force. Contributes to committee work that is related to assignments.
Administrative Intern will meet with the leadership on a regular basis to discuss and to report on progress of current projects; will participate in the system’s strategic planning process; will assist in development of other programs and services as assigned; will assist in managing databases and inputs information, data, and records; will participate in the development of programs, processes or applications; will assist in preparing information and research materials; create and maintain presentations.
Be able to relocate for 12-weeks. Intern may be assigned to various site locations within Community Health Systems, Inc. Be within the last semester of an undergrad degree in Healthcare Administration
Have or will have a MBA or Masters Healthcare Administration within one semester of internship completion
