The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a full-time clinical or tenure-track faculty member in the Department ofOperative Dentistry.
Major responsibilities include:
clinical and didactic teaching at the pre- and post-doctoral levels;
participation in the collegiate intramural faculty practice;
scholarly activity, and service.
Tenure track applicants must also conduct research and mentor pre-and post-doctoral student research.
The position is available January 12, 2026; screening begins immediately.

Applicants must have:
DDS/DMD or equivalent;
By the time of appointment, MS degree or completion of advanced clinical training in Operative/Restorative Dentistry;
Pre-doctoral or post-doctoral teaching experience;
Documented experience in minimally invasive dentistry and cariology;
Record of high-quality clinical care; and
Evidence of collaborative academic achievements.
Tenure-track applicants must also have:
Record of research accomplishments; and
Experience mentoring students commensurate with time following completion of advanced education.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
HIGHLY Desirable qualification:
Documented experience in esthetics and CAD/CAM technology.
