UPMC health care system is actively recruiting for a Vice President of Operations for the North Central PA Region (NCPA) in Williamsport, PA. The UPMC North Central Region is comprised of 5 rural, clinically standardized hospitals with over 700 licensed beds, including bassinets, physical medicine and rehabilitation beds, psychiatric beds, skilled nursing, and personal home care beds and covers a large market of over 700,000. With over 16,000 acute care inpatient admissions annually, each year the Region sees over 44,000 ED patients, delivers over 1,500 babies, and provides over 85,000 Home Care and Hospice patient visits. The flagship, UPMC Williamsport (WRMC), offers complete inpatient, outpatient, and surgical care and provides 24-hour emergency care and has the first ICU in north central Pennsylvania and newly granted Level II Trauma Center accreditation, effective September 1, 2021.

Reporting to the President of WRMC/COO NCPA, the VP, Operations for UPMC for NCPA is a member of a seamless executive management group and functions as the "go-to" operations executive with the authority and responsibility for establishing standards of operations practices and is responsible for developing and approving operational policies and procedures, standards of patient care and standards of practice of the hospitals that result in the delivery of "best in class" care. This VP has responsibility for the planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing of operational areas that include OR/surgical services, pharmacy, GI/ERCP/endo, imaging, OP testing, laboratory services, and other service lines as may be assigned.
Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration or a related field.
5+ years of progressive operations and management experience in a hospital or health system.
Superb communications skills, both written and verbal, and organization and human relations skills.
Action and results-oriented combined with the ability to establish key goals, and drive and track results among multiple decision-makers and stakeholders and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and foster relationships through Integrity and Trust.
Ability to use influence and lead/drive results in a complex organization, achieving alignment between often conflicting priorities, initiatives, and people.
A collaborative, team oriented servant leadership mentality.
