Berkshire Health Systems (BHS) is an independent, non-profit, community-based healthcare organization serving the Berkshire region of western Massachusetts. Strategically located in the scenic Berkshires—approximately three hours north of New York City and two and a half hours west of Boston—BHS is the region’s leading and largest healthcare provider, with a market share exceeding 75% within its service area.
With a workforce of approximately 4,200 employees (3,600 FTEs), BHS is the largest employer in the Berkshires and is distinguished by a deeply committed and loyal staff. The organization fosters a culture rooted in servant leadership and compassionate care. Nursing staff are represented by the Massachusetts Nurses Association, while several other employee groups are affiliated with the Service Employees International Union.
Governed by a 23-member Board of Trustees composed of respected civic and community leaders, BHS is dedicated to delivering high-quality, accessible, and value-driven healthcare.
