Director of Research/Director of Shriners Partnership
Shriners Children’s Northern California Research Center/University of California, Davis, School of Medicine
Sacramento, California
The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine (UC Davis SOM) and Shriners Children’s Northern California Research Center invite nominations and applications for the position of Director of Research for SCNCRC and Director of the Shriners Partnership for UC Davis SOM (The Director).
UC Davis SOM and Shriners Children’s Northern California (SCNC) have a longstanding partnership, with faculty working across both locations to provide patient care, conduct research, and train clinicians and scientists in orthopedics, spinal cord care, burn care, and cleft lip and palate. Co-localized on the same campus, this affiliation brings together one of the leading schools of medicine and a world-renowned, mission-driven pediatric health care system to impact child health in the region.
The Director will set and execute a vision for research at SCNC, recruiting and mentoring faculty as they grow their research programs in alignment with the mission of Shriners Children’s and with the goal of impacting the lives of children. The Director will build and maintain collaborations across both organizations, identifying opportunities to bring together the tremendous expertise and resources of UC Davis and Shriners Children’s. The Director will work closely with the Vice Dean for Research at UC Davis and the Vice President for Research at Shriners Children’s to maintain the already strong partnership between the organizations.
The next Director will have an MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent and an academic record that qualifies them for the rank of Professor or Associate Professor at UC Davis. The Director will have a national reputation in a field that aligns with the core mission of Shriners Children’s and a track record of leading interdisciplinary research programs and collaborations.
