The role you’ll contribute:
As a converging point person for people, process, and technology, the Manager of Physician Informatics has a leadership role in transforming clinical care, maximizing the benefits of information systems within AdventHealth while coordinating physician informatic activities for assigning facilities. Acts as a key contributor, working in collaboration with professionals on enterprise-wide clinical informatics and technical projects. Collaborates to enhance clinical systems in support of excellence in patient care, clinical transformation, and establishment of best practices. The Physician Informatics manager is an expert in computer science, information technology, clinical decision support, and provider clinical workflow and processes. Identifies clinical practice workflow and process improvement opportunities and provides leadership and guidance to improve performance and technology utilization by Physicians, Allied Health Professionals, other physician extenders and staff. Functions as the leader of a team of Informaticists that design, customize, build, test, train, implement, and support with multiple clinical applications, inclusive though not limited to navigation, CPOE and clinical documentation.

- Manage teams to ensure agile and responsive 24/7 year-round support within defined Service Level Agreement.
- Perform analysis of project initiatives for scope, resourcing, and timeline requirements.
- Lead complex technical and clinical projects with minimal supervision, including planning, testing, implementation, deployment, support and evaluates the impact and results of the completed project.
- Identify and engage subject matter experts across departments to ensure timely delivery of services.
- Knowledgeable representative of the clinical perspective and EMR functionality for their customer at operational/hospital/department committees.
- Engage, presents, and works effectively with Operational and Hospital leadership, Providers and Vendors.
- Managers will routinely and proactively round at facilities they support and will actively engage/participate in Go-live activities including go live support and post go live optimization at local sites and for other AdventHealth facilities with readiness to work evenings, nights, and weekends in order to fully support AdventHealth Operations. Engages with pilot programs and all projects in collaboration with AIT and the facilities.
- Prepares, updates and tracks department schedules to ensure adequate staff coverage; Proactively collaborates with other managers for resource coverage.
- Reviews, tracks, and ensures key metrics are met; monitors and analyzes aggregated data to identify trends resulting from information technology tools. Identifies barriers and opportunities to improve measurement of and compliance with outcome metrics.
- Develops, reviews and revises policies and procedures.
- Provide direction and support as a member of the management team to maximize clinical systems value within the organization.
- Directs, teaches, guides, and motivates personnel, serving as a resource, effective coach, and positive role model.
- Facilitates ongoing development of local Service Line Expert Team with EMR and knowledge transfer with work partner CMIO’s, CMO’s, Providers, and Allied Health Professionals.
- Creates an environment to promote teamwork, strengthen relationships and respond to employee input.
- Identifies and coordinates the management of risk and quality issues that arise, escalating the unresolved problems to the appropriate decision-making bodies, as needed.
- Majority of time on job will be at assigned facilities; however, must be able to travel nationally to support major implementations at other AdventHealth facilities. Will work off-duty shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends in order to fully support AdventHealth operations during times of major installs
