Reporting to the President & CEO, the Executive Vice President & Chief Assessment Officer will provide leadership, guidance and direction to major NBOME testing departments, creating and executing strategies that will guide the development and innovation for the NBOME’s current and future assessment tools. The Executive Vice President & Chief Assessment Officer will serve as the senior physician clinical content expert and supervise the Vice President for Licensure Assessment Services and the Vice President for Collaborative Assessment. The Executive Vice President & Chief Assessment Officer will model the NBOME core values of patient safety; integrity; accountability; excellence; collaboration; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Lead and oversee the Collaborative Assessment department that includes the development and delivery of subject exams for the NBOME’s COMAT and WelCOM programs and key client organizations. Supervise the Vice President for Collaborative Assessment.
Lead and oversee the development and administration for all existing and new products of the Licensure Assessment Services department, including COMLEX-USA, COMSAE and COMVEX. Provide innovation and oversight of product development for exams and assessment test quality. Supervise the Vice President for Licensure Assessment Services.
Participate in the Core Competency Capstone for DOs (C3DO) initiative, and serve as a member of the C3DO Team.
Share external responsibilities for visiting and building relationships with related organizations.
Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and participate in Senior Staff activities. Attend meetings and interact with the Board of Directors, National Faculty, and other Committee members.
A DO degree is required; additional degrees, such as a Masters or PhD desired. Licensure required.
Board certification and training in a specialty area required. AOA preferred.
12+ years’ experience as a leader in an academic environment in higher education, preferably at a college of osteopathic medicine and/or in graduate medical education.
Experience in clinical patient care, curriculum, research and educational technology.
Management/supervisory experience and budget planning experience. Ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to staff.
Analytical skills; experience working with data, analytics and research.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitating meetings, and both remote and in-person presentations.
Demonstrated excellence in published peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Assessment and psychometric experience strongly preferred.
The ability to work primarily from NBOME’s Chicago Corporate Offices & Conference Center and travel frequently and including between our Chicago and Philadelphia Offices.
