Manager Pediatric General Medical Unit - Acute Care

SUMMARY: This position is accountable for the overall day-to-day management of the care and services provided by the department and its related operations. This includes oversight and accountability for fiscal performance, quality outcomes of care provided, employee engagement and the patient experience within the department. This position is also responsible for human resources including performance and professional development of Charge Nurses and staff. This position practices within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with Valley Children's Healthcare policies.

The Pediatric General Medical Unit, also known as Discovery, is a 35-bed, acute care medical unit. This team is committed to providing exceptional care and support to patients with a range of medical conditions, including general medical issues, infectious diseases, and specialized gastrointestinal (GI) cases.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's degree with a Master's degree preferred. Either the Bachelor's or Master's must be in Nursing. Individual must possess a valid California RN license as well as a minimum one (1) year leadership and/or managerial experience. Must have a minimum three (3) years clinical experience, one (1) year of which shall have been in pediatric acute care nursing. Minimum five (5) years increasingly responsible experience which demonstrates proficiency in the skills and knowledge required to perform the job is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 30 days of hire or transfer into the position.

POSITION DETAILS: Full time, exempt level position

PAY RANGE: $60.00 - $93.70
