Position Summary: The Director of Security & Safety directs the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive and effective Security & Safety program(s) for the MultiCare Behavioral Health Network (BHN). The Director develops programs, staff, and provides leadership to embedded Security & Safety staff within the BHN; establishes, directs and monitors strategic initiatives to ensure highly reliable and safe Security & Safety programs are operational, continually improving, are cost-effective, competitive and relevant to their market(s); serves as the BHN subject matter expert; establishes strategies; key metrics, customer service excellence standards, and service level agreements; develops and implements policies, standard operating procedures and protocols in accordance with national, state, local, and Joint Commission; monitors program performance and performance improvement activities and ensures continual survey and regulatory readiness/compliance.
Minimum Requirements: Five (5) years of progressive professional/technical experience in security or safety field preferably a large healthcare system Three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory capacity with at least One (1) of these years in a healthcare environment
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelors degree in related field required (security, law enforcement, safety) Masters degree preferred Active member in the International Association of Hospital Security and ASIS preferred Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) or obtain within 180 days of start Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state or ability to obtain upon hire Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator or other security professional certification preferred
