Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced BC Pediatric Intensivist to lead a multidisciplinary team as Medical Director at Blythedale Children's Hospital!
Work at one of the largest specialty childrenâ™s hospitals in the country caring for sub-acute pediatric critical care patients. Direct a multidisciplinary team that works in a friendly, family-oriented environment to improve patient outcomes.
The Program Medical Director will have both clinical and administrative responsibilities and oversee a team of experienced pediatric hospitalists and pediatric nurse practitioners, at Blythedale Childrenâ™s Hospital.
Monday through Friday daytime schedule, working with long-term and sub-acute neonatal and pediatric patients, and coordinating clinical care with a multidisciplinary team that includes neonatal Telehealth support and pediatric subspecialty support from renown Childrenâ™s Hospitals in New York.
Involved in research activities and collaborates with educational institutions to advance medical knowledge and improve patient care.
Lead coordination of care and outreach activities with affiliated childrenâ™s hospitals.
Qualities required for the Medical Director are a commitment to clinical excellence and working collaboratively; excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills;
Board Certification and recent experience in Pediatric Critical Care required; leadership experience required

Established in 1891, Blythedale Childrenâ™s hospital is New York Stateâ™s only specialty hospital and is one of 14 in the entire United States. Located in Valhalla, NY in Westchester County, about 45 minutes from midtown Manhattan, Blythedale is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical, rehabilitative, and support services to children with complex medical conditions including those who require intensive care, rehabilitation and long-term care. Blythedale is considered a thought leader within academic pediatric and policy circles in advancing important treatments and care models for medically fragile patients. This 94 bed hospital serves about 150 patients per day with on-site ambulatory care services, with referrals from the regionâ™s acute childrenâ™s hospitals/major pediatric programs. Specialized units such as a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Traumatic Brain Injury Unit, Neuromuscular Unit and Technology-Dependent Unit. Blythedale Childrenâ™s Hospital has the only NY state school district located on site and regulated by the NY Department of Education.
