What You Can Expect:
Act as the clinical lead for Palliative Care/Hospice (Supportive Care) through our medical group
Set and effectively communicate regional strategy, standardization, and targets for programs and services to deliver the highest quality care, excellent service, and optimal venue management
Work 0.5 FTE in administrative time overseeing regional performance and 0.5 clinical time in our service areas in direct patient-facing care encounters
Identify opportunities to improve the patient and family experience of care and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of resource use relative to the scope of palliative medicine
Review care plans and provides clinical direction for service area leaders
Serve as the regional lead for the service area Palliative Care Champions.
Participate as a medical leader in the development and review of appropriate palliative care/hospice clinical protocols and processes that support appropriate referrals to and ensure consistent quality palliative care.
Participate in the development of strategies and workflows to support the serious illness population
Mentor, educate, and develop both trained and informal palliative care physicians.
Serve as the clinical expert for the Physician Leadership
Build effective relationships with referring physicians to sustain a strong culture of collaboration among specialists, primary care physicians, and other staff to meet the needs of palliative care patients
Partner with health plan Palliative Care/Hospice care leadership to provide clinical direction, medical group perspective, and strategic planning for future care workflows.
Partners with community hospice care leadership to provide MAPMG perspective, strategic guidance, and target-setting.
Represent our medical group in external and internal conferences or meetings

Minimum Requirements:
MD or DO
Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine
Palliative Care fellowship
Five or more years of practice experience
Two or more years of formal leadership experience
Prior experience with process improvement, data systems design, and electronic medical record systems workflow design
High level of proficiency with analysis software such as Excel and Tableau
Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia
