As a Magnet®-recognized center, Cardinal Glennon is seeking a candidate with a Master's degree in Nursing or related field, Bachelor's degree in Nursing if the Master's is not in Nursing. Seeking pediatric nurse leader with acute care or complex care experience. Pediatric post-acute care experience preferred. Project management experience needed to successfully achieve key milestones for opening Cardinal Glennon’s Pediatric Transitional and Respite Care Facility in Edwardsville, Illinois. The Director of Nursing will lead the effort to implement this care facility within SSM’s corporate structure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, meeting local, state, and federal regulatory and compliance requirements for care and service delivery; overseeing site remodeling; assisting in the identification and implementation of an electronic medical record solution; developing policies and procedures and implementing a governing structure; collaborating with providers for medical oversight; and defining an operational infrastructure to implement the DON oversight of hiring and orientation of all positions. Goal is to open site for services Q4 2023. The DON is a key resource to achieving this goal and evolving site operations, care, and service delivery in the long term.
Directs clinic and/or hospital sites and operations. Develops specific goals, standards, and objectives that directly support the strategic plan and vision of the clinic and/or hospital.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans for new and expanded services.
Assesses quality of and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other providers.
Manages staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.
Monitors budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
Three years of management experience with three years in leadership.
