JOB SUMMARY:

The Vice President of Medical Affairs - Hospital Medical Director for the Eau Claire, Rice Lake and Ladysmith Regions reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This individual will work collaboratively with a President dyad partner, as well as with other members of the system and local leadership teams, in order to carry out the mission, vision and values of the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS). The VPMA will serve as the Hospital Medical Director for the represented Marshfield Medical Center facilities and provide medical director oversight to multiple assigned inpatient and outpatient service lines and medical specialties within the regions assigned. The VPMA will have direct oversight for hospital based specialties within the regions. The position will be .9 FTE administrative and .1 FTE clinical.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: Leadership experience. Demonstrated understanding of healthcare and medical economics in managed healthcare and evidence of applying this knowledge in day-to-day activities.

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Located in western Wisconsin, Eau Claire, meaning French for clear waters, is set at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire Rivers and it is considered to be one of Eau Claire's finest assets and a valuable link to the area's heritage. Rice Lake, Wisconsin

With a population of just over 9,000, Rice Lake has many of the offerings of city life, nestled among some of the most beautiful features nature has to offer. The district consists of six elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Rice Lake is a popular summer resort area as well as a playground for those who enjoy swimming, boating, water-skiing, and fishing. Held each winter just north of Rice Lake is the biggest cross-country skiing event in the nation, the Birkebeiner. Culturally, Rice Lake offers the Red Barn Players Summer Theatre and Art Center as well as the Northern Star Theatre. In the summer many residents of Rice Lake enjoy the splash pad, Turtleback golf course, and the Moon Lake Park with soccer fields. Fun Fact: Each summer, enjoy all that the city's 10-day Aquafest festival has to offer, such as national musical acts, carnival rides, food and family activities.

Ladysmith, Wisconsin

Located along the scenic Flambeau River in northwestern Wisconsin, Ladysmith features a thriving business district in a picturesque Northwoods setting. Ladysmith has a population just north of 4,500 people, but is big in personality with its beautiful parks, diverse restaurants and shopping in its historic downtown district.
