Responsibilities
The Administraitve Intern for the Spiritual Care department is responsible to partner with the manager in support of the CPE program, contract chaplains, contingency workers and volunteers who provide spiritual support services to our patients, family members and team members. The tasks required are:
Organizational * Track budget spending and prepare and submit expense reports * Assist in answering phone & directing caller to services * Order office, clinical and spiritual care supplies * Coordinate team schedules for 24/7 coverage * Assist in recruiting CPE students * Assist in preparing and communicating information and instruction for chaplains * Design and prepare patient & team members materials
Planning & Executing * Coordinate special events and activities to support team members and as needed patient requests, i.e., baptisms/weddings/funerals * Collaborate with the team in creating a social media presence on Workplace
Research & Reporting * Project manage efforts around spiritual care and patient experience * Gather details and prepare report for Medicare
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university
Must be in good academic standing
US Citizen or permanent resident
Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship
Ability to present & organize information
Strong cultural competency
Have an understanding of health care environment
Knowledge of various spiritual/religious/cultural backgrounds and belief systems
Ability to maintain a calm, comforting environment for patients, family, and staff
Can maintain confidentiality
