The Division of Geriatric Medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a physician leader to serve as Division Chief of Geriatric Medicine. This is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic leader.
The Division Chief of Geriatric Medicine is responsible for leadership of the Division to include direct oversight of the budgetary responsibilities and human resources as well as ensuring the highest quality of care continues to be delivered to patients. The Division Chief will play an instrumental role in strategic planning and implementation for the Division and have accountability for the Division's clinical care delivery, economic performance and growth.
Division Overview:
The division of geriatric medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network includes over 20 members and provides full scope, comprehensive geriatrics care across various environments to include skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, inpatient (to include a trauma consult service) and outpatient (geriatrics exclusive) based care. There is also an ACGME accredited geriatrics fellowship program. U.S. News has recognized LVHN as a "high performer" in Geriatric Medicine for the last three years.
Duties/Responsibilities
The incoming Division Chief's administrative duties will include but are not limited to:
- Operational oversight
- Involvement and oversight for recruitment
- Conducting performance evaluations with clinical staff
- Oversight of clinical staff and partnering with a dyad for management and oversight of non-clinical staff
- Chairing or participation on various committees
- Attendance of departmental meetings
- Medical education to include the ACGME accredited fellowship program
- Oversight and management of grant applications (as applicable) and
- Strategic planning.
- Involvement in the post-acute care collaborative and post-acute steering team
Minimum Qualifications
- MD/DO
- Successful completion of internal medicine residency and geriatrics fellowship
- Board certification in internal medicine/geriatrics
- Five years of clinical practice experience
- Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an administrative leader with oversight of physicians and advanced practice providers
- Strength leading in a post-acute setting
- Role model with an engaging/inspiring leadership style and/or lead by example mentality
- Comfortable with programmatic development
- Strategic thinker who is dynamic/agile and able to grow and evolve with the role.
