Your day.
As a Remote Sr. Epic Clarity Database Administrator you need to know how to:
- Perform activities related to the corporate-wide administration of computerized database infrastructures, including defining, organizing, securing, ensuring efficiency, documenting, determining long term requirements and operational guidelines.
- Provide operational services which maximize system availability (high-availability and system recovery), enhance security and optimize error-free processes and job cycles.
- Maintain strong security profiles with application of industry best practices, consistent patching, updates and audit log assessments.
- Provide responsive, high-quality customer support to resolve customer problems and respond to questions.
- Interact with other internal application teams and systems groups, to triage and diagnose, identify root causes, troubleshoot database alerts and issues related to assigned databases or areas. Make recommendations and assists in performance tuning and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide direction, coordination, guidance, and technical support and expertise related to the installation and implementation of all new instances and services and upgrades to existing database systems.
- Serve as the master level technical subject matter expert related to assigned databases or areas.
- Manage and organize assigned projects with medium to large scopes. Lead project efforts. Manage the completion of DBA work, meeting deadlines, and providing deliverables to the customer. Schedule and facilitates meetings as necessary to complete assignments.
- Mentor and train other DBA staff to improve their skills and prepare them for more responsibility. Assign and monitor progress for DBA teamâ™s tasks and projects. Set team work priorities.
Your experience.

- Bachelorâ™s degree in Computer Science, Information Services, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database technologies. This experience should include backup and restore procedures, space management, and transaction logs management, stored procedure coding, shell scripting, monitoring software.
Preferred:
- Masterâ™s degree.
- Current Oracle or Microsoft Database Administration certifications.
- At least five (5) years of experience Microsoft or Oracle database technologies utilizing high availability and disaster recovery methodologies in an enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with very large database operations, data warehouse extract transform and load (ETL) environments.
- Familiarity with Epic Cogito Clarity Reporting database ETL environments.
- Familiarity working with developer teams.
- Experience in the healthcare industry.
