This is truly an extraordinary time to join the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN).  LVHN serves nine counties in eastern Pennsylvania with nine hospital campuses, nearly 2,000 inpatient beds and $4 billion in revenue, over 275 physician practices, 55 rehabilitation locations, more than 80 testing and imaging centers, 25 health centers and 20 ExpressCARE locations.  The network currently has two new hospitals under construction and a significant network ambulatory expansion is underway. 

Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute is committed to providing patient-centric care which is driven by its team approach to the future of medicine. The Institute is composed of a team of more than 200 musculoskeletal providers, each of whom has subspecialty interests. The Clinical Divisions include: foot/ankle, hand, spine, trauma, pediatrics, podiatry, total joint replacement, sports medicine, pain management, chiropractic medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Their orthopedic surgeons perform approximately 17,100 procedures annually. Orthopedic surgery at LVHN offers a comprehensive approach to the treatment of patients with muscle, bone and joint disorders, including problems related to injury or trauma, sports injury, arthritis, rheumatology, cancer, osteoporosis or other metabolic bone diseases. 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of LVHN, the Senior Vice President (SVP), Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute will be a seasoned executive with a proven track record of successfully leading and growing a large orthopedic business. In close coordination with his/her dyad partner, this SVP will co-lead the strategy, growth and development of this new Institute to ensure its long-term success. The SVP will also help drive performance metrics across the health system with respect to both quality and profitability.

The successful candidate will grow service line market share and profitability across LVHN to promote a system-wide approach to care delivery. The new SVP must work in concert with the executive and senior management team members, service line and shared service executives, physician practice administrators, nurses and physicians to create a seamless delivery process across LVHN’s service area. In addition to competing more effectively for the business in the primary service area, the new SVP will be expected to develop new business for the system from the secondary service areas through partnerships with physicians and other hospitals throughout the region to ensure the rapid growth and success of the enterprise for both the Network and the patients it serves. The SVP will provide leadership and operational oversight to meet strategic and operational objectives of the Orthopedic Institute, while supporting the continued development of a high-quality orthopedic program to be a regional and national market leader.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Healthcare required.
• Master’s degree in healthcare administration or MBA strongly preferred
