Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (Lurie Children's), a non-profit, top-ranked, and academic children's hospital based in Chicago, Illinois, has retained WittKieffer to assist in the recruitment of candidates for their Chief Compliance and Integrity Officer (CCIO).
Lurie Children's seeks a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as its next CCIO. This is a unique opportunity at one of the most respected healthcare institutions in the U.S.

The CCIO leads Lurie Children's on its continuing journey to build and maintain a culture of compliance integrated in all aspects of business and clinical operations across the organization and owned by all employees and associates within Lurie Children's and its affiliates, including the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute and medical group affiliates. The CCIO will work collaboratively with Lurie Children's management to ensure business practices uphold Lurie Children's 138-year legacy of excellence where kids and their families are at the center of all Lurie Children's stands for.
This position reports administratively to the Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer (“CLO”) and has functional reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) and to the committee or subcommittee to which the Medical Center Board of Directors has assigned Compliance Program and Privacy Program oversight duties. The CCIO will provide overall direction through the strategic enhancement and continued execution of a healthcare compliance program in support of the mission and strategic goals of Lurie Children's. This executive position promotes ethical management behavior and an awareness and understanding of positive ethical principles, and compliance with federal and state law in all areas of compliance and privacy programs.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and an advanced degree such as a J.D., Master's Degree or other advanced degree. Additional certifications in compliance (CHC, CHC-F, CHRC, and/or CCEP) are required within 12 months of hire if not already certified. In addition, candidates must have an outstanding record of achievement with at least ten years of experience in healthcare and knowledge of all elements of corporate compliance and privacy programs, knowledge of laws, rules and regulations regarding privacy, healthcare billing and coding, healthcare delivery and operations, research, teaching and conflict of interest management. Experience working with a board and board committees on corporate compliance matters and experience in an academic medical center or complex integrated healthcare delivery system is strongly desired.
