As the manager of the blood bank, you oversee a diverse team dedicated to providing the best possible care for patients. Your technical knowledge of blood banking along with your ability to lead a team and develop appropriate procedures creates an atmosphere where staff members thrive and patients receive the quality care and services they deserve. Legacy Laboratory Services (LLS) is an independent reference laboratory offering extensive medical testing services in the region, and connectivity solutions for both laboratory information systems and electronic medical records. This role manages the technical, operational and business aspects of Legacy's blood banking services in all six hospital labs across the system, which includes an adult and pediatric level 1 trauma center and ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) program. In collaboration with lab, physician, and nurse leaders, this role plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls financial, physical and personnel resources. Achieves goals consistent with safe, quality health care delivery through accurate and timely analysis of laboratory testing, efficient delivery of service, and patient and physician satisfaction. Assures blood product safety. Assures compliance with accreditation requirements and standards for Legacy's blood banking operations.
Bachelor's degree in chemical/physical/biological science or equivalent experience. Management experience preferred.
Five years of experience and special training relevant to areas of responsibility.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
