WittKieffer and Women & Infants Hospital (WIH) have partnered in the national search for a Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). WIH is seeking a seasoned nursing executive with a track record of success in developing high performing teams, elevating professional nursing and mentoring, and identifying leadership talent for a fast paced, state-of-the art hospital. The CNO will be responsible for the nursing standard of practice across the organization, and provide leadership to nursing and patient care services including development and implementation of methods to maintain and improve high quality patient care. The CNO will develop a nursing strategy, as well as assess and improve the nursing structure and culture, which is empowered and focused on health equity, quality and patient care.
The qualified candidate will possess a minimum of seven years of senior leadership experience as a CNO, SVP, VP or a highly seasoned Director of Patient Care Services or Nursing within women's services in a large organization; preferably gained in an academic medical center, multi-hospital system or large community teaching hospital. The preferred candidate will have experience working in a union environment, and building and maintaining relationships with union representatives. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success promoting professional nursing practice, and possess a solid understanding of hospital finance, budgeting, and operational issues in the contemporary healthcare environment. The chosen candidate will have an established record of balancing nursing and patient advocacy with strategic business interests.
