The Vice President, UPMC Imaging Services (VPI) is responsible for the management of all diagnostic and interventional imaging services at UPMC hospitals and outpatient facilities throughout the enterprise. The VPI reports to the Chairman of Radiology and the Chief Operating Officer of the Health Services Division. The new VPI will aid the Radiology Chair in implementing system wide initiatives and long-term strategic plans articulated by UPMC executive management. They will coordinate clinical imaging operations and global (technical-professional) budgets working in conjunction with hospital imaging directors and imaging leadership. Through an emphasis on quality, efficiency, and best practices, the Vice President, UPMC Imaging Services will have direct operational oversight to ensure that clinical services are delivered with a best-in-class culture through an accountable, effective operations organization.
The VPI must work well in a matrixed environment and be able to communicate effectively across multiple groups of people, including hospital administrators, senior UPMC executives, physician leaders, service line leaders, and operational leaders.
Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
10 years of experience with 7 years in a management capacity and/or a Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
Demonstrated ability to navigate a complex health system and maintain professional and productive relationships with all levels of physicians and staff.
Ability to lead through both influence and authority and operational management skills to drive results.
A demonstrated track record working within a metrics driven, results oriented leadership model associated with a commitment to maintaining the critical balance between quality, safety, patient satisfaction, employee engagement and financial measures.
