This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. The Physician is highly skilled in the management of patients mental health needs with particular emphasis on triage, evaluation, and disposition of patients presenting to urgent or emergent care settings. Conducts history and physical examinations to include mental status examination Completes intake assessments and suicide risk evaluations Formulates diagnoses, and renders treatments as appropriate Writes admission orders and admission history and physical examinations as appropriate Provides psychotherapy and medication management as indicated Participates in collaborative care as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team Maintains timely and effective documentation of patient encounters Arranges psychiatry coverage in the emergency department to include management of the ED coverage schedule Sees outpatients for longitudinal care and inpatient consults on medical/surgical units Delivers care in a variety of settings to include in-person, telehealth, and telephone care VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
