University Health Services is searching for an Associate Director of Community Health (ADCH) to join their team. Reporting to the Senior Director of University Health Services (UHS), the ADCH is responsible for providing direct oversight of UHS activities related to public health preparedness, contact tracing, health equity, case management, strategic health partnerships, and supporting Penn State commonwealth campus (CwC) health services. The ADCH will lead all outreach efforts that support creating a healthy campus community for students and employees. The ADCH is responsible for managing Salesforce Health Cloud operations in support of campus health and wellness initiatives.
Develop and lead a community health program that supports the mitigation of chronic and infectious diseases among the student population at University Park (UP) and CwC. Provides supervision for (5) direct reports with a focus on contact tracing, case management, health equity initiatives, infectious disease mitigation, and administrative support for CwC health services.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage public health preparedness and support ongoing efforts to mitigate chronic and infectious diseases at UP and CwC. This involves supporting student health service efforts at the CwC and establishes a University wide community health framework using Health Cloud to manage disease outbreaks, vaccination programs, and supporting social determinants of health.
Advises senior leadership on matters related to disease outbreaks and creates proactive measures to quickly identify threats to student health and well-being through reporting systems, marketing and strategic communications, public health policy development and student health advocacy.
Coordinate programs addressing social determinants of health specifically for marginalized and underserved student populations with a focus on health insurance, food and housing security, and case management. Monitor and support student led health efforts, provide leadership for Student Health Advisory Boards and coordinate UHS student volunteer programs.
Serve as subject matter expert on community and public health committees and maintain strong working relationships with relevant campus partners specifically: Penn State College of Health and Human Development, Penn State College of Nursing, Penn State Hershey Medical School, Health Promotion and Wellness, Residential Life and Housing, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and Campus Recreation and Wellness.
Represent UHS to external stakeholders and support Senior Director with strategic and financial planning.
Typically requires a Master's degree or higher and 8 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Masters of Public Health (MPH), Masters of Health Administration (MHA) or Masters of Public Administration (MPA) preferred, as well as 5 to 8 years of health service management experience in a public and/or community health setting building strategic partnerships to advance positive health outcomes and health equity. Prior experience in college health strongly preferred or experience working with young adult populations. Experience leading community health initiatives and deep understanding of best practices in public health preferred.
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
