The Associate Dean for Equity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement leads the medical school's efforts in promoting health equity and inclusion. The incumbent will develop and oversee the medical school's cultural competence curriculum and service-learning opportunities. They will coordinate diversity initiatives, service learning, and community-based outreach and research for the medical school. They will participate and serve on the Vice Dean's Council of Chairs and Deans and as a director for the Center of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion. The incumbent will interface as appropriate with the system wide goals and initiatives to develop and support health equity and inclusion. Oversees the medical school's programs promoting and fostering diversity, community engagement, and opportunities for addressing equity. Will serve on the medical school's admission and committees, advising faculty search committees.
Support Geisinger community initiatives as part of GCSOM strategic workforce diversity initiatives.
Serve as executive Director of the Center of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion. Oversee its programmatic initiatives, report to HRSA, and oversee its fiscal responsibilities.
Oversee COE and REACH-HEI.
Oversee and manage budgets from various funding sources.
Pursue additional funding sources to support curriculum, pipeline and service learning projects.
Oversee and engage actively in the curricular theme of Community Immersion, with emphasis on student service-learning experiences in community health.
Promote the curricular theme of Diversity and Health Equity, focusing on cultural humility, the social determinants of health and community engagement throughout the curriculum.
Develop, implement and maintain pipeline programs (e.g. REACH-HEI) that promote diversity among students and in the workforce.
Promote faculty development around equity and inclusion.
Articulate concerns from the learning community on issues related to equity and inclusion.
Collaborate with faculty, staff and community leaders to develop programs within and beyond the school that promote equity and inclusion.
Oversee opportunities, including events, celebrating diversity and community service.
Coach senior leadership on diversity and inclusion issues.
Provide cultural competency training for organizational members.
Develop diversity metrics and processes to assess diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Develop strategies for diversity and inclusion education for students and faculty.
Communicate diversity to internal and external constituents.
Assist in enforcement of equal employment opportunity and compliance efforts.
Infuse diversity into the academic and clinical experience of students.
Coordinate language service initiatives.
Recruit and outreach to diverse communities of potential students, faculty and staff.
Forge strategic partnerships with community organizations, higher education, government and others.
Seek and manage grants necessary to support service learning, social justice andequity initiatives.

Terminal Degree in a relevant area is required. MD preferred.Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Must be eligible to hold a faculty appointment.
