You Will Be Responsible For:
Program Management: Manages all operational aspects of assigned program(s) in support of department and hospital strategic initiatives, including planning, development and execution of the department strategy. Develops, executes, and leads several projects within program simultaneously, utilizing various department stakeholders to ensure performance meets expectations. Oversees cost, schedule and performance of assigned projects/programs. Establishes action plans and milestones for self and others to complete work efficiently and on time by setting priorities, establishing timelines, and leveraging resources. Prioritizes support and resolves conflicts within program.
Operations Management: Actively participates, communicates and serves as a positive change agent for all unit, department, campus, and system initiatives/goals and leadership activities. Supports the development of new simulation initiatives. Provides guidance, recommendations, and integration of emerging technologies that support current and future training requirements. Facilitates the development of policies and procedures to ensure the safe, effective and efficient use of simulation equipment and supplies. Implements a structure for accomplishing plan requirements, recommending the staffing for that structure, while providing the policies and procedure to help guide people.
Simulation Training Team Development: Conducts training programs for simulation staff and healthcare providers which include principles of simulation in healthcare, development of simulation scenarios, safe learning environment, facilitation and debriefing skills. Provides evaluation and feedback for facilitators of simulation activities including scenario design, facilitation and debriefing skills. Conducts onboarding, ongoing professional development, and mentoring for new simulation facilitators, educators and simulation operations specialists. Develops and maintains career maps for various specialized career fields in the Learning Support department and mentors staff as needed.
Accreditation: Conducts and oversees all departmental assessment standards and measurements for simulation center, lab and program accreditation. Supports the necessary requirements to develop, implement and validate the accreditation criteria. Leads inter-department teams to create and revise simulation-specific policies and procedures, standard operating procedures, and work instructions required by the Society of Simulation in Healthcare for accreditation. Documents and/or describes how the department links the assessment training activities to the program’s mission, vision and strategy.
Program Improvement: Ensures that simulation activities facilitate patient safety, risk management, organization improvement and quality outcomes. Provides knowledge on simulation curriculum development/design, course facilitation and simulators/associated equipment as needed. Supports the design evaluation strategies and tools to determine whether desired learning and performance outcomes are achieved. Continually assesses opportunities for improvement in all aspects of learning technologies. Actively participates and contributes knowledge to process improvement activities. Reviews course materials in order to recommend quality learning experiences, effective assessment and functionality.
What Will You Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelorâ™s degree in Nursing, Simulation, Education, Technology, Business or applicable discipline
3 years of experience in training and operations management
2 years management experience
1 year of experience in simulation, training, teaching, or education experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Masterâ™s degree in Nursing, Simulation, Education, Technology, Business or applicable discipline
6 years of experience in training and operations management
4 years management experience
2 years of experience in simulation, training, teaching, or education experience 2 years of experience in direct patient care within hospital or clinical setting
Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Basecamp, Trello, Jira, etc.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
State of Florida Class âœEâ driverâ™s license and driving record in accordance with AH policy
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
If clinical, current, active State of Florida license in specialty
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification
The Training and Accreditation Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of internal training, staff development, career mapping, and system-wide simulation center/lab/program accreditation for the Learning Support department, including simulation-specific programs for the AdventHealth system which incorporates all campuses, service lines and department (both clinical and non-clinical), and associated programs/partners at the AdventHealth AHA Training Center, the Graduate Medical Education programs and the Adventist University of Health Sciences. Identifies and promotes education and training best practices that enhance clinical outcomes, team performance, patient safety and quality improvement efforts. Supports strategic planning, simulation team supervision, and exercise design/development for system-wide customers. Supports and assists Simulation Learning Strategistsâ™ efforts to maintain the development and skill sustainment of campus educators and simulation facilitators. Introduces strategies and processes to increase operational efficiency in training, equipment resources and labor utilization.
