An exciting leadership opportunity to serve as the new CFO at Bay Area Community Health (BACH). BACH was formed in 2020 through the coming together of southern Alameda County’s Tri-City Health Center and Santa Clara County’s Foothill Community Health Center. BACH brings more than 70 years of combined service to the area that stretched from Union City to Gilroy. Before forming BACH, Tri-City Health Center served the Fremont community for 50 years, becoming a central force for providing health services to all in southern Alameda County. Foothill Community Health Center began servicing low-income families and individuals in East San Jose in 1996 and the greater Santa Clara County region in 2011.
The Mission of BACH is to deliver exceptional health and social services that improve quality of life for the individuals, families, and communities they serve. BACH serves more than 100,000 people from diverse backgrounds who rely on high-quality healthcare services, regardless of their immigration status, ethnicity, disabilities, or ability to pay.
The CFO is a key member of the senior leadership team, leading the financial strategy of the organization, providing the CEO and the Board of Directors with the financial tools needed to measure risk and return on investment regarding decisions that fulfill the organizational mission. The CFO is responsible for the financial management of BACH including long- and short-term budgeting, variance analyses, accounting, financial statements, governmental compliance, proposing fee structures, managing A/R, monitoring the financial status of the health center, ensuring appropriate reimbursement, financial management of grants, and performing the necessary and appropriate financial/program analyses.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
An advanced degree in finance, accounting, MBA and/or another master’s degree from a college or university.
Financial experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center highly preferable
Ten (10) years’ experience in accounting preferable.
Six (6) years’ supervisory experience.
At least five (5) years previous experience in health care field is preferred.
Preferable expertise/knowledge in the cost-based reimbursement model and Prospective Payment System rate setting process for Federally Qualified Health Centers.
