The manager of graduate medical education plays an integral role in coordinating the education and training for new medical providers. The Manager provides system-wide leadership and coordination of all Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs, including those for residents, medical students, PA students and clinical fellows.
The Manager GME provides fiscal and administrative oversight of Legacy’s Department of Medicine.
They work with Program Medical Directors, faculty and medical staff, as well as individuals from other departments and institutions to assure that the administrative oversight of, and support for, all programs is of the highest quality, that program objectives are achieved and that accreditation standards are met.
This position directly manages department staff, and co-manages employed residents and fellows with the Program Directors.
The Manager GME collaborates with clinical leadership, experts and key stake holders in the development and implementation of new training programs. Oversees and facilitates educational relationships and contractual agreements with other sponsoring institutions. Represents Legacy Health to educational partner institutions.
Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred. Training in education, business administration, human resources and/or or healthcare required. .
Minimum of five years progressively more responsible experience in education, business administration, human resources and/or healthcare. Demonstrated performance in a leadership role.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
