Clerk Medical Records - Part Time (Danville/Muncy*)

Job Summary

Job Duties

• Receives requests for information from patient medical record.
• Pulls charts from the file area for all departments in the clinic and refiles all charts returned to Medical Records Department.
• Files reports and hospital discharge summaries in the chart.
• Updates chart tracking system for all records leaving and returning to the department.
• Answers phones and assists callers as necessary.
• Creates new medical record folders and maintains order of files.
• Researches medical record number and chart status.
• Performs verification of patients having more than one medical record number.
• Scans reports and documents into the required system.
• May train other employees on data entry for back-up coverage, as necessary.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of all Patient Medical Records and Information.
