An opportunity exists for a Manager of Sterile Processing and OR Materials Management at Penn State Health - Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (HMC) in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  The manager will provide support to the Director and direction to the staff, and facilitates the workflow through the department.  They will have overall responsibility for the cleaning, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing of all instruments and equipment according to CBSPD, AAMI, and IAHCSMM standards; also, will conduct inventories of all materials.  The manager will provide guidance and monitor quality of work assignments for Sterile Processing Technicians and Supply Technicians.  Will also respond to requests from internal and external customers and actively participate in a continuous quality improvement process.   This is a full-time, exempt, evening shift position.  Relocation funds are authorized for this position. 

The minimum qualifications for this position include:

• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• Two years of job related experience in a similarly complex surgical services environment
• Thorough knowledge of effective sterilizing techniques and processing a variety of surgical instruments used in numerous service lines
• Effective organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• CRCST and CHL or CIS/CST certifications

Preferred qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree
