JOB SUMMARY The Revenue Cycle Improvement Consultant is responsible for the ongoing monitoring and optimization of patient price estimate accuracy for BSWH. This position will work with BSWH revenue cycle departments including but not limited to Access Services, Central Business Services and Systems as well as third party technology vendors to improve operational efficiency, price estimate accuracy and to enhance the overall patient experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE The Revenue Cycle Improvement Consultant proactively seeks opportunities to identify price estimate inaccuracies and inefficiencies through data analysis, and creates solution alternatives. Implements price estimate accuracy improvement solutions for BSWH revenue cycle departments and BSWH facilities. Monitors the performance of price estimate accuracy rates utilizing current monitoring tool sets and performance metrics. Creates new performance metrics to address and manage performance issues. Coordinates revenue cycle department activities to redesign workflow to improve price estimate accuracy. Coordinates revenue cycle price estimate improvement activities between BSWH Corporate departments and BSWH facilities. Facilitates price estimate communications across the revenue cycle including co-leading a cross-functional Accuracy Optimization Committee. Analyzes and identifies trends in price estimate accuracy rates. Uses this data to develop and implement process redesign solutions.Assesses the current capabilities of third party estimate vendor and IS Revenue Cycle systems. Collaborates with Revenue Cycle leaders, BSW IS and vendor to prioritize and address defects as well as champion innovative enhancements. Works with Revenue Cycle training team to develop training tools and coordinates revenue cycle educational activities for BSWH revenue cycle departments and BSWH facilities.Develops and maintains price estimate documentation and knowledge base including best practice workflows, frequently asked questions and vendor logic.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS The ideal candidate will have project management experience, strong communication, analytical, organizational and implementation skills and knowledge of revenue cycle operation. Healthcare consulting experience is preferred.
