he medical esthetician performs under the guidance and instruction of the healthcare professional and will non-invasive procedures including, but not limited to:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Graduate from an accredited Aesthetician Program.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Maintain a current New Mexico State Esthetics License
Works with clients to ensure satisfaction while maintain the highest level of integrity, confidentiality and trust.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision making in resolving client challenges and / or concerns.
Professional, service oriented, accurate, gentle and work with attention to detail, striving to exceed the expectations of every client every time.
Ability to perform fine motor tasks, such as when working with instruments or tools in the department, such as the
Intense Pulsed Light, Microdermabrasion or tattoo permanent makeup.
Ability to work with and to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when working with blood borne pathogens or other chemicals.
Knowledge of basic chemistry; skin care products; factors that affect the skin; integumentary system and skin histology.
Knowledge of disorders of the sebaceous and sudoriferous glands; skin conditions, disorders, and diseases; hair, follicle, and its growth cycle.
Knowledge of customization of facial mask; human physiology and anatomy.
General knowledge of specialized services
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practitioners and nursing staff.
Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills. Enjoy working with people and possess a professional, friendly and outgoing personality.
Must have excellent communication and listening skills.
Knowledge in massage manipulations and their effects, electricity and use of electrical devices, facial makeup scientific concepts,
Knowledge of Microsoft Office application, in-house specific database and basic accounting principles.
Must be a team player.
Bilingual is helpful.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years administrating facial services in a spa or clinical setting. Must possess 600 hours of physical hands-on experience in esthetics either in a spa based or clinical setting.

Working conditions are primarily conducted in a clinical setting that is a clean, well-lighted, smoke free environment. VDT exposure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Subject to stressful professional relationships. Working hours vary, with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies. Requires the ability to speak, listen, develop and communicate written materials. May be required to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 15 lbs. Ability to identify and distinguish colors, close and distance vision. Frequent sitting with some walking and standing. Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
