The Deans Office within the School of Medicine is in search of a Vice Dean of Finance and Administration. This position will report to the Dean of the School of Medicine and the Vice President of Health Affairs. They work closely with the Dean and senior leadership in planning, fiscal management, and policy development. This role will also serve as the Principal Business Officer (PBO) to the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) and manages financial relationships with the College of Nursing and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Master's degree in public health administration, health care administration, business, accounting, finance or a related field. Minimum 10 years experience.
Ability to lead all aspects of a large, complex, highly matrixed organization.
Knowledge of leadership, management, and teamwork principles, and demonstrated ability to effectively apply principles to support and advance organizational objectives.
Demonstrated ability for complex problem-solving, thoughtful streamlining of processes, leading people through change, and identifying most effective and efficient ways to serve the organization and its mission.
Honor, integrity and purpose in personal and professional interactions.
Excellent communications skills, organizational skills and strong customer service orientation.
Ability to build productive and trusting relationships with stakeholders throughout the University and clinical partners. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for faculty and staff, valuing gender equity and cultural diversity.
Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement sound, repeatable business processes, with a strong focus on operational efficiency and effectiveness. Demonstrated ability to structure, implement, and manage to successful completion complex business projects.
Knowledge of state and federal government associated programs.
Preferred Qualifications: 15 years progressively more responsible leadership experience, previous supervisory experience and higher education experience.
