| WittKieffer has been retained by Orlando Health's newest hospital, Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, to identify the hospital's next Chief Operating Officer (COO). Bayfront Health St. Petersburg officially joined Orlando Health in October 2020. Bayfront Health St. Petersburg is a 480-bed tertiary care center and Level II Trauma Center which offers expertise in many areas including surgery and trauma, neuroscience, cardiology, acute rehabilitation and obstetrics. The hospital is the only trauma center in the county and cares for more than 2,500 trauma patients each year. Orlando Health is a not-for-profit healthcare system spanning nine counties in Central Florida. With $3.6 billion in net revenues, the system is comprised of nine hospitals. Reporting directly to John Moore, President Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and Senior Vice President, West Region, the Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the overall planning, directing and monitoring of the day-to-day operations of the hospital. As the hospital integrates into the system, the COO will ensure the implementation of Orlando Health's strategic plan into the daily hospital operations. The COO will work to improve operational efficiencies by leading performance and process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to grow and improve clinical programs to increase volume, and assessing the current state of support services. The COO will play a key role in implementing Epic in the hospital immediately following the system-wide implementation of Epic planned for 2021. Candidates should have extensive hospital operations experience, preferably within an integrated health system. Experience working in a highly complex, matrixed health system is preferred. Candidates should have a track record of success executing strategy and achieving strong financial, operational and quality performance.
