Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare
Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare (Gillette) seeks a dynamic, transformational and mission-orientated leader with a passion for pediatric healthcare to serve as the organization's Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer (COO), which is a newly created role. Founded almost 125 years ago by the Minnesota state legislature, today Gillette is an independent, freestanding hospital with a main campus in St. Paul, Minnesota, and numerous outpatient sites of services across Minnesota. Gillette cares for those who have some of the most complex, rare and traumatic conditions and diseases in pediatric medicine which derive from the performance of a child’s musculoskeletal and or neurological systems. A referral-based specialty center, each year Gillette services patients from all 87 Minnesota counties, over 40 US states and territories and from many countries from around the world. The COO will be part of a high performing and dynamic executive leadership team, reporting directly to the President and CEO, Barbara Walczyk Joers. Gillette has recently redesigned and is actively moving forward with implementing a new operating model that facilitates matrix relationships built on trust and accountability between colleagues throughout the organization. Strategic direction and oversight will be done at the executive leadership level. The COO is responsible for operations focused on service delivery areas for all of Gillette's sites. Gillette seeks individuals with strong emotional and social intelligence, and a demonstrated ability to connect with others in a meaningful way at all levels of an organization. The new COO will be an individual who excels at leading others and leading change, and will have strong operations experience, be understanding of others and have both customer experience and financial acumen.
