Howard County General Hospital (HCGH) is a comprehensive acute care medical center with 245 beds, and member of Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM), one of the country’s premier academic medical systems. HCGH is designated by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems as a Cardiac Interventional Center, Primary Stroke Center and Perinatal Referral Center. The next President of HCGH will serve as the strategic leader in setting the vision and direction for the hospital, communicating a clear and compelling vision and roadmap for the future and inspiring the Board, System leaders, physicians, employees, and the community to achieve that vision. This leader will have the ability to translate the future vision for the hospital into an executable plan focused on safety, quality, performance, patient satisfaction, employee/physician engagement, and growth. They will play an integral role within JHM and will work collaboratively across the highly matrixed organization. This President will work closely with a local governance board and report directly to Kevin Sowers, President of the Johns Hopkins Health System and Executive Vice President of JHM, and winner of the 2020 Deming Cup for Operational Excellence. Kevin was selected for his exemplary leadership and honored for rising above and beyond the call of duty during the COVID-19 crisis to drive impact by aligning exemplary operational excellence with passionate humanism, creative agility, and successful execution.
