VP, Chief Mission & Ministry Officer

POSITION OVERVIEW

The VP, Chief Mission & Ministry Officer provides leadership resource and direction for BSWH Christian Mission and Ministry activities; responsible for forecasting, strategizing, developing long term plans and implementing highly effective programs of spiritual support and spiritual development for BSWH patients, family members and staff. Specifically responsible for directing the development and implementation of the following programs: BSWH pastoral care delivery to Baylor patients, family members and employees; oversight of BSWHs Faith In Action Initiatives programs, other programs designed to provide spiritual support and spiritual leadership development for BSWH employees; directs and oversees BSWH comprehensive programs of pastoral education encompassing both ACPE, Inc., programs of clinical training as well as pastoral education programs designed to benefit the spiritual leadership, care and support that BSWH patients receive from their communities of faith. ACPE (APC-BCC) Supervisor preferred.

- Provides leadership resource and direction to BSWH chaplaincy and pastoral care programs across the health care system to ensure consistency and high quality of chaplaincy and pastoral care as well as shaping pastoral care programs that support Baylor's Christian and Baptist religious identity and organizational values. 
- Works with BSWH President and CEO as well as the Advisory Council for the Office of Mission and Ministry to set strategic priorities, forecast spiritual needs and challenges, develop long range plans and implement programs to further BSWH Christian mission and ministry. 
- Oversees the development of budgets for each mission and ministry component (pastoral care, pastoral education, faith in action initiatives and employee spiritual support) monitors the implementation of component budgets and works with BSWH foundation representatives to maximize philanthropical support of Mission and Ministry budgets. 
- Provides leadership resource and oversight for Baylor's pastoral education programs, insuring continued high quality, and seamless integration of BSWH clinical pastoral education, field education, faith community consultation, inservice and education and clergy support with all other BSWH Mission and Ministry efforts. Oversees the development and monitors the implementation of Faith in Action Initiatives, employee spiritual support, Sacred Vocation programs and spiritual leadership programs to insure maximum effectiveness and quality of such programs for BSWH employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Masters'
- EXPERIENCE - 3-5 years experience required
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Assoc Prof Chaplains - BC (AAPC), Ordained Minister
