Haven cares for over 90 percent of patients in their home or wherever they call home. But when there is a need for short-term inpatient care, Haven offers hospice care centers in Gainesville, Palatka, Chiefland, Lake City and Orange Park. In these welcoming and home-like settings, Haven clinicians provide around-the-clock care to patients needing intense pain and symptom management as well as provide education and support to family and loved ones. The care centers offer overnight, respite care to provide a break to primary caregivers for up to five days.

The Controller serves as a key member of Haven’s Leadership Team, responsible for working with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure the financial needs of Haven and subsidiary entities are met. The Controller is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial reporting of Haven, subsidiary entities and the production of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
The Controller and its functions operate under tight deadlines and is responsible for the finance and accounting activities including:
General ledger management
Preparation, publication and review of monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting and analysis within Haven and SantaFe HealthCare
Preparing tax documents and regulatory reports
Maintaining effective internal controls over financial reporting;
Facilitating the external independent audit its preparation and activities
Development of the annual budget and routine forecasts/projections and various data analytics.
The Controller is also responsible for the management and oversight of the revenue cycle, including ensuring:
Services are billed accurately and completely and on a timely basis
Billings are collected on a timely basis
Related general ledger accounts (including Periodic Interim Payments from CMS) are reconciled each month
Setting reserves and/or allowances for potential uncollectible balances, etc.

Experience - At least five years relevant accounting experience and at least five additional years with accounting supervisory/leadership experience required. Previous public accounting experience preferred.
Valid Florida driver’s license and insurance.
