Northwestern Medical Center (NMC), in partnership with QHR Health (QHR) and WittKieffer, is conducting a national search for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for NMC in St. Albans, Vermont. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a community-focused, high-quality, independent not-for-profit compact medical center within a unique and innovative payer environment. We seek a personable, authentic, empowering leader to carry forward NMC's legacy of providing quality, affordable care to the communities of northwestern Vermont.
NMC is the leading provider of healthcare services in Franklin and Grand Isle counties, serving a population of 55,000. With approximately 830 dedicated employees and $105 million in net patient revenue, NMC has been named one of the Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals in the nation (multiple times, most recently in 2019) by the The Chartis Center for Rural Health. NMC has been recognized as one of the “Most Wired” hospitals in America and has won national Avatar awards for “Overall Patient Satisfaction”. The new CEO will have the opportunity to collaborate with a talented management team, a well-trained medical and clinical staff, a skilled nursing team and an engaged support staff; and a dedicated board of directors, all aligned in seeking the type of approachable, down-to-earth, talented leader who can continue NMC's legacy of service. Given the strong ties within the community, and with a significant focus on community-wide coordinated care within a value-based reimbursement model, NMC has positive, mutually-supportive relationships with numerous community partner organizations. The CEO will benefit from these partnerships and through an active community presence, this leader will continue to build cooperative, mutually-beneficial relationships that help serve the community. The CEO must work in an open, transparent way within the unique healthcare regulatory structure of Vermont and in partnership with the Green Mountain Care Board. Vermont is known for its payment innovation and all payer model; this role provides a true opportunity for a leader who can bring a clear, strong, collaborative voice to this small, unique healthcare ecosystem.
