Sentara Healthcare, based in scenic Hampton Roads, Virginia, has retained Korn Ferry for a nationwide search seeking a progressive and experienced HR leader to serve as Regional Vice President, Human Resources (RVP). Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of the health system, the RVP will serve as an executive-level trusted advisor to senior leadership in aligning the HR Business Partner function to the broader HR and organizational strategic goals. The RVP will identify and lead strategic and operational initiatives of HR Business Partners in their partnership with Division leaders.

The RVP will join a dynamic team of 180 human resources professionals and will have HR Business Partner oversight over six hospitals, Sentara Medical Group, Long-Term Care Services, Home Care and Hospice Services, as well as Hospital and Ancillary Support Services for a combined total of over 16,000 employees. The RVP, HR will be expected to work in partnership with senior leaders and HR colleagues to develop and implement progressive HR initiatives, systems, processes, and best practices to achieve business and service objectives.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of broad human resources experience, a generalist background in various HR leadership positions, a history of delivering high-impact results, and an ability to influence at all levels of the organization. The RVP must be a strategic, business-focused individual who has partnered successfully with senior leaders to achieve objectives and drive change across different geographies, functions, and lines of business. In addition, the RVP should bring an understanding and appreciation of diversity and inclusion, including various approaches to incorporate inclusion practices into the HR Business Partner function.
