The Senior Clinical Data Analyst for the Population Health Department will help develop the overall architecture, design, development, and strategy for building Population Health Analytics for the RWJBH Health system. With some supervision, the successful candidate will work to manage healthcare databases including EMR/EHR data which will be used to conduct quantitative analyses on a wide range of health care delivery and quality issues, addressing quality, outcomes, utilization, cost, and patient experience metrics. Furthermore, the Senior Clinical Data Analyst will provide info on healthcare trends, predictive modeling methodologies, benchmarking and interpretation of data, innovative payment methods, program evaluation, quality metrics and analytic modeling.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Senior Clinical Data Analyst for Population Health Analytics include:
Create OLAP cubes using SSAS for healthcare data
Write SQL/SAS queries for ETL processes
Test and maintain data integrity for multiple databases
Plan and execute reporting and analytic projects
Interpret/translate analytic concepts, approaches and results for executive or lay audiences
Set priorities among competing priorities and achieve clinical reporting and support of population health management objectives
Ability to follow directions and work on a multi-disciplinary team
Must have a background in analytics, statistics, predictive modeling as well as experience using multiple data sources including claims, encounter, administrative, and/or survey data.
3-5 years of analytic experience with healthcare data
3-5 years developing and managing quantitative projects
Statistical analytic and visualization tools experience such as R, Python, SAS, and Tableau.
Strength in ETL processes
Ability to create OLAP dBs via SSAS
Ability to program using VBA
Knowledge of EMR systems and RHIO data
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills
Bachelor s degree in relevant field
Master's degree in clinical sciences, pharmacy or quantitative based field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Public Health or Health Services, Decision Science, Operations Research, Health Economics
