Pars, picks, and distributes pharmaceuticals, supplies*, & equipment in support of department goals, objectives, and to assure optimal patient care
is provided. Assists in supporting an inventory management and PAR system. Responds immediately to daily pharmaceutical, supply, and equipment
requirements. Completes documents and accurately works within the Lawson system or other inventory management software.
Performs receiving and shipping of all material including verification of material and quantity to Lawson purchase order specification, inspection for
visible damage or shortage. Accurately processes related documents into system and dispatches material to proper destination.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
*Supplies throughout this document are to include all linen supplies.
Reports directly to a Logistics Supervisor.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrates ability to read and perform arithmetic calculations, follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing (in English).
Demonstrates ability to be certified on all electric pallet movers and equipment.
Demonstrates basic computer skills.
Demonstrates a reasonable comfort level with technology and associated devices.
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrates ability to efficiently multi task.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Minimum one year inventory or clerical experience preferred.
Minimum six months on the job to learn to identify medical and surgical supplies and equipment and become familiar with all duties required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires the ability to lift up to 70lbs. Lifting to waist level and above is required. Requires pushing and pulling of carts with weights ranging from 100lbs to
500lbs combined. These duties are performed 50% to 60% of the workday.
