Cermak Health Services is the daily provider of healthcare to the approximately 9,000 detainees at the Cook County Department of Corrections. The jail is located on the near Southwest side of Chicago. As the largest single site correctional health service in the country, the 150,000-square-foot facility provides a comprehensive range of services, including primary care, specialty care, dental and mental health services, a pharmacy, rehabilitative care and a 129-bed infirmary.
Under minimal supervision of the Bureau Chief of Human Resources, Deputy Chief of Human Resources, and Talent Business Partner is engaged in highly confidential screening, tracking and evaluation of job applicants' records relative to the recruitment and selection process for offices under the jurisdiction of County Board President. Utilizes the Automated Tracking Application System (ATAS) for applicant selection accuracy. Coordinates efforts with all areas of the Human Resources Bureau to ensure strict adherence to policies and procedures, Employment Plan guidelines and other protocols. Consults with Bureau Chief and Deputy as well as other management to review policies and identify where changes are needed to ensure that established criteria relative to fair and objective hiring are met. May participate in the evaluation and testing of applicants, determine work priorities and train other staff in all operations relative to the recruitment and selections process.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate (must provide diploma at time of interview) and f ive (5) years' full-time work experience in the field of Human Resources Recruitment and Selections is required .
A Bachelor's or higher level degree (must provide official transcripts at time of interview) and two (2) years' full-time work experience in the field of Human Resources Recruitment and Selections is required .
One (1) year work experience with TALEO or another online applicant tracking system is required .
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel is required . (Microsoft Office test may be administered.)
SPHR or PHR certification.
