We are recruiting for a Sr. Credit & Collections Financial Analyst to join our Kindred Rehabilitation Services Division in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Senior Credit & Collections Financial Analyst position is accountable for the credit granting process, including the consistent application of credit policy, financial modeling of the credit risk profile, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses. The Senior Credit & Collections Financial Analyst will be responsible for enhancing and streamlining the credit granting process and actively contribute towards the development of a continuous improvement environment. This position will work closely with the collections and leaderships team to advise of credit matters that may affect or bring barriers to cash collections and matters which would negatively affect the bad debt reserve.
Additionally, the position will maintain the ‘Credit’ related potions of contract management in Rehab Contract Management Systems (RCMS) on all non-affiliated, non-direct Bill, Kindred Rehabilitation Services customers.
Perform collection of accounts receivable on assigned accounts including major multi-location chains, and assist when escalation efforts are necessary.
Responsible for supporting business development sales opportunities by processing credit checks timely and maintaining within RCMS. Obtain all necessary management approval of Credit risk. Has authority to approve credit within established policy and procedures.
Perform OIG, GSA and state compliance verification for all new accounts. Document as required.
Responsible for accurate and timely set-up and maintenance of all new customers needed in SAP.
Responsible for collecting accounts receivable amounts from non-affiliated, non-Direct Bill customers as assigned. Responsibility includes major customers, higher risk accounts, and an escalation path for other collectors in the department.
Outline daily and/or monthly projection goals in an effort to structure progress & production respectively.
Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with KRS policies and procedures & monthly performance requirements.
Analyze monthly activity against prior month, prior year, forecast, budget and other measures.
Prepares forecast and provides updates for assigned region.
Assists with the production of month-end Bad Debt reporting packages for senior management to use in analyzing monthly operations.
Assist with Internal Audit and outside auditor requests, keep SOX documentation up to date.
Prepares ad hoc reports as requested by senior management.
Analytical support in assembling regular key account and/or business reviews.
Ability to understand and frame complex issues in a consolidated and straightforward manner.
Identifies and recommends changes to policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and improve processes.
Demonstrate the ability to interact in a professional manner with people at all levels of the organization, including senior/executive management.
Strong attention to detail.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of credit review and financial analysis.
Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
Strong analytical capability with a focus on mitigating risk, supporting sales initiatives, and achieving best in class bad debt management.
Experience in evaluating credit reports from various Credit Reporting Agencies
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills required to quickly identify any trends and/or patterns to customer payment issues.
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Demonstrated experience in the execution of multiple security instruments; guarantees, Promissory Notes, etc.
High level of problem solving and decision making with a focus on consistent tactical and strategic execution.
Works independently with minimum Supervision
Excellent Computer skills with strong working knowledge in Microsoft applications – specifically Excel, Work, and Access
Experience with SAP
Strong customer service skills and organizational skills.
Ability to provide leadership and support to indirect department associates .
B.S. / B.A. degree in a business discipline, preferably Accounting, Finance, or Math.
A minimum of 5 years experience with business-to-business credit granting, with at least 3+ years experience working with credit scoring systems and/or models
A minimum of 5 years directly related and progressively responsible experience business-to-business collections.
