Witt/Kieffer has been retained to conduct a national search for the Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Children’s Hospital seeks a dynamic, transformational, mission oriented leader with a passion for pediatric healthcare to serve as its next CEO.
Children’s Hospital is a nationally recognized, freestanding, 247-bed not-for-profit pediatric medical center offering a complete range of healthcare services for children from birth to 21 years. Children’s generates annual net patient revenues of approximately $225M and experienced an average daily census of 135 patients for the most recent fiscal year. With a staff of 1,900 associates and a medical staff of 135 full-time and 400 part-time physicians, Children’s sees approximately 50,000 emergency room visits and performs 10,000 surgical procedures annually. Children’s Hospital is the founding member of LCMC Health, a multi-hospital system comprised of Children’s Hospital, Touro, New Orleans East Hospital, University Medical Center and West Jefferson Medical Center. The next CEO will lead strategic, cultural and operational transformation to achieve the next stage of evolution and create the future state of Children’s. The growth of Children’s includes the development of a regional pediatric network and a $225M expansion and renovation project. In partnership with LSU School of Medicine Chairman of Pediatrics, the CEO will advance physician engagement and satisfaction, employee engagement and patient satisfaction. The CEO of Children’s Hospital will report to Greg Feirn, CEO of LCMC Health and the Children’s Hospital Board of Directors. S/he will collaboratively lead the development of a robust strategy, eloquent vision and plan to position Children’s as the regional pediatric provider of choice.
The next CEO will need to have the ability to develop relationships across LCMC Health and in the region. S/he must have a passion for the mission of pediatric healthcare and the ability to champion the organization in providing accessible, high quality patient- and family-centered care and an unsurpassed patient experience. Strong operations experience and financial acumen is desired. Experience in a Children’s hospital is preferred.
