Under the leadership of the Vice President of Customer Information Technology, the Director of Data Services will be responsible for the collection, management and delivery of member data. The Director will function as a liaison between the data management leadership who establishes directions and commits resources, and the data services staff that carries out the data services functions. This role is hands-on and will oversee a team tasked with maintaining business processes that support the ongoing data quality, accuracy and completeness of member data. They are a champion for enterprise data and analytics strategy and governance and will be responsible for helping the organization become more data driven in decision making by utilizing analytics to develop actionable insight. This role is key in the execution of the overall data strategy and will maintain the strategic roadmap for data services by collaborating with functional teams to ensure that the roadmap creates business value with technically sound solutions. Generally, the Director will:
Manage the overall process and governance of member data creation and maintenance
Oversee the Data Services Team, including the delivery of data services and solutions across the organization
Implement policies, procedures, roles and responsibilities that enforce secure management of data assets
Adopt and deploy data standards and business rules where member data impacts are anticipated
Ensure infrastructure and business process standards are in compliance with data management policies
Lead data migration activities such as data cleansing, creation, conversion, integration, issue resolution and data validation
Serve as principal voice for data quality, integration, governance and analytics
Lead leveraging of cross-divisional advisory team, ensuring data decisions are considered cross functionally
Work with various departments to build and maintain business performance dashboards and reports
Facilitate creation of a business intelligence/analytics platform for the association
Manage integration and analysis of data from a variety of sources to address business questions

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; plus, a minimum of five years ‘of proven data management/governance; and experience supervising a data team. Other requirements include strong knowledge of Data Management principles, including data architecture, governance, quality and reporting and analysis; AMS, CRM or database experience required; Salesforce experience is a plus; desire to learn and stay current on data governance and data management industry trends; ability to collaborate across multiple departments and to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, members, business partners and the public; excellent written and oral communication skills. Association experience is a plus. Ability to travel locally and nationally is necessary.
